What used to be done mostly in public areas is now done at a regular basis in homes owing to its space saving feature. Since the plasma or LCD TVs are expensive, most people with small children opt for wall mounting so as to keep the TV out of the children’s reach.

A wide range of TV wall mount brackets are now available in the market. You should choose the right bracket for your TV depending on the make or the model. It should also be of the best quality possible so it holds the weight of the TV well. If you chose a cheap quality wall mount bracket there is a possibility that the bracket will break and your TV can come crashing down.

A number of types of VESA brackets are available like flat brackets, tilt brackets, swiveling brackets and arm mount brackets. The swiveling and tilting brackets allow you to adjust the angle at which the TV is set after the TV is mounted where as flat brackets will not allow you to adjust anything hence you should be very sure of the height and location where you want to get it done. A little bit of wiring work goes into wall mounting the TV hence a lot of thought should be put into deciding the wall spot.

Most of the places that sell TVs usually supply plasma tv wall mount brackets for the specific models of TV as well. Otherwise you will need to look around to find the best bracket for your TV. To do this, first find out if your TV is VESA compatible. Once you know that your TV is, it will be easy for you to look for a VESA compatible wall mount. You will find a lot of brackets that are designed for different sizes of TVs.

Look for specifications of the wall mounts that tell you what weight it can hold and buy one that is strong enough to hold your plasma TV. Wall mounts with articulating arms allow for the maximum flexibility of being able to turn it 180 degrees. So if you fit it to a corner of a ‘L’ shaped room, it can be moved to be viewed for any corner or the room. Another advantage from the tilt feature of the brackets is that they can eliminated the glare from the sun and hence give a better viewing experience.

A lot of care should be taken when hooking up the lcd wall mount brackets. A professional work is usually advised as they usually do a better job with the wires hidden away neatly and only your precious TV is standing out when anybody enters the room. If you are doing this your self, make sure the screw is embedded deeply and securely to the wall and is not loose in any way. This is a very important thing which if not done properly can have your TV come crashing down.

Wall mounts are slowly growing popular owing to its numerous advantages. Wall mount brackets that fit your TV perfectly and the ones of the right size should be chosen. The brackets should be strong and buy one which can take a lot more than the weight of you TV so that you have good safety margin. All the different types have their own advantages and all these should be considered before you decide what kind of a wall mount bracket you want to buy.

Home Entertainment Furniture Keeps Your Electronics Tidy

We’ve all seen it: the electronics mess run amuck in the typical home. I mean, sure, there’s usually some sort of entertainment center area, but without appropriate furniture, like an HDTV frame, more often than not you’ll end up with wires streaming out in every which way and DVD players stacked on top of old VCRs. There might even be a layer of video games under there!

The point is home entertainment furniture acts as a way to tie your electronics into the rest of the house. Instead of letting your technology be a separate entity within your home that doesn’t fit in with any of your décor or style, incorporate it seamlessly by means of a flat panel TV frame or something similar.

For those of you that are protesting by saying, “But I want my electronics to stand out,” don’t worry. Your great new TV will still be noticed by your friends and relatives. However, instead of it being a large object sitting on a table or hanging on your wall in the middle of space, you could frame a flat screen TV instead. The frame itself can be picked out to match your décor, or if you’re feeling particularly daring, you could have one custom made to suit your needs.

A flat panel TV frame can make all the difference to your décor. Home entertainment furniture as a whole can make a difference. Without it, your TV would be sitting on the floor, and no one wants that!

Your best bet is to use several pieces of home entertainment furniture to fit your specific set up. You could have a cabinet for your DVD player and some of your movies, while the TV can hang on the wall within an HDTV frame. Whether you prefer a modern style or want something a little bit more traditional, you can find the perfect furniture to liven up your living space without losing any of the wow factor your electronics can offer.

Really, furniture like this can provide an elegant finish to your home theater set up. Without it, you’d just have your gadgets lying around haphazardly and that doesn’t do your meticulously constructed home entertainment system justice. Give your electronics the star appeal they deserve with some fantastic home entertainment furniture like a flat panel TV frame. You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes in your home and in your entertainment-viewing experience.

Features of Flat Screen TV Cabinets

by Chuck Topanga

Before purchasing TV cabinets, you need to do some background work. This is mainly because the Blu-ray player is forcing manufacturers to change the way they are making TVs and AV receivers, causing these manufacturers to play catch up in order to give viewers the full benefits of this new technology.

So in order to get the best performance out of your Blu-ray player, here are some tips or guidelines you will need to correctly set-up your player. Also highlighted are some of the problems you might encounter when adding a blu-ray player to your Home Entertainment system.

Getting The Best Picture From Blu-ray:

Blu-ray players are manufactured to work on any TV that has component inputs, regardless if the TV is High Definition or not. However, having a Blu-ray player connected to a HDTV (High Definition TV) via the HDMI or component video inputs will allow you to get the full HD experience from your Blu-ray Player. So even though connections can be made to any TV with at least composite video inputs, in order to get the high definition Blu-ray resolution(1080/24p) you really need a 1080p HDTV. HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface and is the new standard for transmitting uncompressed digital data from your player to your TV set, just make sure all your devices have HDMI outputs or inputs. HDMI cables can be expensive, try to get a package deal where these are included with the product you're buying.

First, you should know the difference between a HDTV (High Definition TV) and HD Ready TV, you only have to remember one key difference: if your set has a built-in digital tuner it is HDTV, if it doesn't have this built-in tuner, it is HD Ready. So when a HDTV is labeled HD Ready, it means a television set does not include a built-in tuner for receiving over the air signals in high definition through an antenna. To overcome this problem, if you have HD cable, the box provided to you by the service provider will receive the HD signal necessary to give you high definition images on your HDTV. So even if you only have a HD Ready TV you will still have no problems watching Blu-ray high definition movies on it.

Now, having a 720p HDTV is recommended, but a 1080p HDTV would be your best option. This is because all blu-ray movies are stored on the disk in 1080p at 24 frames/second. You will often see this referred to as 1080p/24p. The original film was shot at this rate and the blu-ray format allows you to view the movie as the director wanted it to be seen. You should definitely be aware of older blu-ray players that were not capable of displaying 1080p/24p. These blu-ray players will convert the 1080p/24p signal to 1080p/60p using the '3:2 pulldown' technique. This means one frame is played 3 times and the next is played 2 times and so forth. One frame gets to be on the screen longer than the other causing a slight error in the video signal, commonly called telecine judder, the picture appears to have a slightly jerky movement.

Most of the newest blu-ray players have 1080/24 p output. But not all TVs can support 1080/24p. So feeding your 1080/24p signal into a television that cannot support it will result in the TV converting the incoming signal to 50 or 60Hz. This will also produce the telecine judder or vibration in the picture. Luckily most of the latest LCD and plasma TV set can now easily handle the 1080/24p signal.

To summarize, in order to get the best quality picture you need the following:

- Blu-ray Player with 1080/24p output signal

- Television that can support 1080/24p

- HDMI cable for connection

- For HD Television broadcasts you need HD cable service

This will give you the best cinematic images when watching movies or TV programs in the comfort of your own home. Happy viewing!

About the Author

For a more information on Blu-ray and Blu-ray Players try this handy comparison guide: bluray dvd players For information on Buying Mini Laptops at Bargain Prices Click Here: best netbooks

Assistance with a Plasma Wall Bracket

by Matt Thames

In many households as well as other establishments the television is usually the focal point in our living rooms, bedrooms, and media rooms. Flat panel televisions have become more popular than ever because they can present any room with a sleek contemporary feel as well as provide a gathering place for our newest friends and our closest relatives.

Although television stands and built-ins can still be found in many homes more people are turning to plasma wall brackets as a way to save space and provide a clean look in any room whose primary use is entertainment. The most difficult problem people encounter is choosing the correct plasma mount bracket to fit their needs. Because there are so many options, the first question one should ask is what they would like the television to accomplish in that specific room. The most popular plasma wall bracket is the flat wall mount. This particular wall mount has maintained its popularity because it provides a home theater look in any room yet is the most affordable wall mount on the market. The main benefit is the ability to conceal the TV when it is not in use.

A hidden TV lift is the ideal solution to obstructing your TV from view when it’s not needed. The hidden TV lift can be placed behind a cabinet or built within existing furniture. When it’s time to watch television simply push a button and the flat panel will rise into viewing position. The hidden TV lift provides convenience for the owner and safety for the television. Parents don’t need to worry about possible damage to the screen from playful children with this concealed design.

Limited space in the home can oftentimes be problematic when owning a large plasma TV, yet a hidden TV lift can eliminate these potential issues. TV lifts also allow your television to take advantage of small spaces. Another benefit to using hidden TV lifts is that the cables and tracking accessories from the flat panel itself can be concealed from view. The unsightly cables fit within the constraints of the lift system to make them not visible to television viewers.

A hidden TV lift is an excellent solution to conceal your flat screen from view while it is not in use. It creates possibilities to feature your plasma TV in new ways previously not thought possible with ordinary TV entertainment systems. With a touch of button on the remote control, the TV can be within view at the request of the owner.

Harmony Remote: Top Rated by Reviewers

If you are in the market for a good universal remote control, you would be well served to check out the Harmony One. We get this question a lot. The answer is yes, maybe. If you have decided not to wall mount your television and want to use your TV stand for displaying your TV then there are is some criteria that you must meet to be able to apply a frame to your TV.

First consider the weight. Unlike wall mounts, TV legs are specifically made to fit your television. there is no universal application here. Your TV Base typically is inserted somewhere into the bottom of your television. It is designed to hold the weight of your television and nothing more. adding additional weight to the television can increase the risk of tipping so care must be taken to avoid this.

Most televisions have a place to attach a wall anchor to your television. If you are going to be using a TV Frame this is required. DO NOT PUT A FRAME ON YOUR TV WITHOUT SECURELY ATTACHING IT TO THE WALL. If you don't get anything out of this article this is the most important. A TV frame on a TV Base will tip over unless it is attached to the wall.

Design. Most manufacturers don't offer this solution. If there is a custom option from the manufacturer try giving them a call and asking them. If the manufacturer offers this it will almost certainly be a custom option.

Remember that because the TV base which sits on the furniture is very close to the TV stand the design of the frame will need to incorporate this opening at the bottom. You will not be able to encase the TV within the TV frame completely. This is not really a detractor since it will not be visible on the TV stand.

TV Frames

By Willey Starks

A new and exciting trend in TV Furniture is the use and display of plasma TV frames to compliment your home decor. A TV Frame is typically used in conjunction with wall mounted televisions and varies in price from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

When looking for a new TV frame there a few elements that may not be immediately evident in your shopping comparisons but are important none the less.

Symmetry - When choosing a TV Screen Frame you should think about how important it is that the TV frame encases your television in a symmetrical fashion. Many manufacturers simple take molding and wrap it around the outside of the TV bezel. This is a very simple application but it unless your television has equal bezel dimensions on all four sides your new frame will end up being a different dimension than your TV screen viewing area. If this is important to you than you should shop around and find a manufacturer that addresses this in the frame design.

Mounting - How does the frame attach to the television? pay special attention here because your satisfaction over time will be very dependent on this element. Some manufacturers mount directly to your wall and if this is the case you may have real issues if you plan to use an articulating wall mount. Other manufacturers use straps and Velcro to hold the TV frame to the TV, again if you are planing on tilting or pivoting your television make sure that the straps will not come loose over time. The best solution is usually a dedicated bracket solution that is made from steel or aluminum. a dedicated frame bracket provides the best of both worlds when it comes to mounting your frame.

Price - TV Frame prices vary wildly from one manufacturer to the next. There are some manufactures that are selling television frames fro as much as $10,000 per frame. The frames in this price range are typically very similar to fine art frames and feature intricate and extremely detailed wood carvings. If your budget allows then this may be just the ticket for you.

If you are like most, and $10,000 is not within your TV Furniture budget then there are still plenty of options available for you. Shop around and find a frame that will fit your decor and your budget and give them a call. TV Screen Frame solutions that range from a $300 to $900 dollars can be just as detailed as some of the more expensive frames.

If you do your homework and compare these elements of television frame solutions when you finally do make your decision to purchase your satisfaction and expectations will almost surely be met.

LCD wall brackets add the finishing touch to your TV

by Phil Battison

A quality LCD television is capable of being the focal point of an entire room or house so it makes sense that consumers are willing to spend an extra level of cash to ensure it is displayed in the best possible manner. Whether this is to allow the entire family to have a good view of the set or perhaps to make it really stand out, there is no doubt that a quality mount can add to the look and feel of a television set. Decades gone by saw TV's placed on tables and dressers but those days are gone with LCD wall brackets being the best way to display a television set and have it secured in the house.
Although there are a great number of mounts and brackets available, choosing the correct one for your LCD television set is made slightly easier by the VESA standard. The VESA standard is an attempt to standardize the holes and screws needed to secure television sets to walls via a bracket. As there are so many different brands of televisions available, if each company made their own bracket built to their own specifications the marketplace could be extremely confusing indeed. Thankfully, this standardized approach offers a great deal of benefit to consumers and should hopefully reduce the heartache that can come from buying the wrong type of product.

Many of the current LCD wall brackets also offer the opportunity to link to home audio systems as well. If people are willing to spend a considerable amount of money on an LCD television, they are equally likely to pay a large amount to have a sound system that matches their picture quality. The importance of a home television system is rising sharply and as the financial situation continues to scare many people, more people are deciding to stay at home and make their own entertainment. The initial expenditure of purchasing a top of the range television, surround system and mount to keep it all secure are more than offset buy being able to stay in the comfort of home and invite friends and family over. The current economic outlook is having a hugely positive impact on demand for television and home entertainment systems with the knock on effect for mounts following sharply.

Depending on the layout of the room or the size of the television, some people may prefer to utilize a tilt and swivel type of bracket. This can make the LCD television seem even more impressive and can help everyone in the room get the best view of the screen. Again, the ability to tilt and swivel will depend on a number of factors including the size and breadth of the television and the support provided by the bracket but no matter what requirements a consumer would have for the bracket, there will be a product to suit their needs.

LCD wall brackets may not be as glamorous a product as surround sound or HD-TV but in making an LCD television the focal point of the room, they have a huge impact.

For a more information on Blu-ray and Blu-ray Players try this handy comparison guide: bluray dvd players For information on Buying Mini Laptops at Bargain Prices Click Here: best netbooks Copyright © 2008. If the mere thought of bundling up and braving the fierce March winds to catch a movie sends a chill up your spine, you might want to think about installing your own home theater.
The growing interest in home theaters has sparked an entire new industry that specializes in the audio-visual components of this trend. I will defer to those experts on the electronic/technological issues surrounding home theater projects or kitchen remodeling Westchester, but I encourage you to consider these important design features before you embark on a project that, by the time it is finished, may have a budget the size of a Hollywood blockbuster:

Room Size: Make sure you have a room that is big enough to accommodate a large screen TV or even projection-style system. At a minimum, the room should be at least seven to eight feet deep - nothing smaller - so that you can sit far enough away from the screen to avoid eye strain. Check out this website for viewing distance and sound calculators: www.myhometheater.homestead.com/. Windows: Ideally, you should choose a space that has few - if any -- windows unless you are willing to invest additional dollars in blackout shades.

Wall finishes: There are pearlized paints (Theaterthings.com) on the market today that enable you to use your entire wall as a video screen but they do call for white walls so think about your color choices before deciding whether this type of "screen" is right for the overall look and feel you want the room to achieve. If your wall is neutral enough in color, a portable projector that runs off a laptop computer is another way to turn a living room into an instant movie theater. Almost any light color will work. After your eye adjusts to the color of the projected image, whites will look white.

Insulation: Given the elaborate surround-sound systems available for home theaters, the proper insulation of walls and ceilings is crucial, not only for those in the room who want to enjoy the movie-theater experience, but also for those in other rooms of the house who aren't interested in catching today's feature presentation. If you are renovating the media room you can add Acoustiblok® membranes directly to the studs or use Quietrock® soundproof sheet rock. Soundproofing should always be installed by a certified expert. The final step in sound proofing is the floor insulation. Thick pile carpets is great, but beware of the spill and spot factor. Unless you want your carpet cleaner to be on retainer, get a neutral to dark color and a fiber that can be cleaned - preferably a polypropylene product, which also has antistatic properties. To be fully on the safe side, go with carpet tile, so you can replace individual squares when disasters occur.

Amenities: If you truly want a self-contained movie theater feel, install a wet bar with a sink, refrigerator, and microwave for popcorn. If you are a Woody Allen fan, try an updated version of the "orgasmatron" as a mini wet bar.

Seating: You can spend literally thousands of dollars on luxurious recliners with built-in drink holders and massagers. Many home-theaters also feature tiered or stadium-style seating on raised floors, but before you commit to this, make sure you have enough clearance to accommodate the resulting loss in floor-to-ceiling height. We found the selection from R & R Contract and HomeTheatre Furniture especially appealing.

If you don't have a spare space that can be dedicated just to movies and TV, you can consider having home theater components worked into the design of your living and/or family rooms. Due to their low profile, flat screens TVs are best for this type of dual room use and can be incorporated in the room design by being placed over the fireplace mantel, for instance. Just make sure the TV is braced and insulated properly so that the heat the fireplace produces can be deflected. You might also want to consider a hinged painting or photograph that can be swung away to reveal the screen. This is especially ideal for apartments or other small spaces where you don't want the TV to be the focal point of the room at all times.

by Korbin Newlyn

Selecting the most recent plasma TV is surely something that will provide most people with a big rush that would be even more pronounced if you get the best plasma TV mount which will give you the ability to have your top of the line plasma TV displayed in the best area in your house.
You will certainly be presented with an array of selections in this type of situation and one of the primary deciding factors would certainly be your own personal preferences that will point you in the direction towards one specific type of plasma TV mount.

Articulating Wall Mount - A New Way of Positioning Your TV

There is a diverging array of selections for wall mounts. Amongst these different options that you will need to take into account prior to purchasing your plasma TV mount is what is called an articulating wall mount that is likely the best option out there at the moment. With it you even have the option of lowering your TV and you can also move it in most any direction which includes up and down as well as from side to side.

There are also many types of alternatives with the type of plasma TV mount that you get to select from and it also is very well suited for a persons bedroom in addition to a game room because it gives you the ability to view your prized TV from and area in your room.

An additional option when it comes to plasma TV mounts is to pick a regular flat mount that does just mount your plasma TV to the wall in a very similar way as you would simply hang a picture on the wall and for most people this plasma TV mount is the best selection, particularly in the living room or the den. It is a particularly a good pick when you do not wish to move your plasma TV, although one small drawback is that you might not be able to view it from all the areas of the room that it is mounted in.

An additional selection in regards to plasma TV mounts is to purchase a tilting mount that it perfectly suited for any plasma TV which is situated closer to the ceiling of the room and it permits you to look upwards at the TV and also provides you the ability to tilt the screen in a downward direction to help improve the viewing angle of the screen.

One of the only challenges with this kind of plasma TV mount is that it isn't likely that you will be able to tilt it in a side to side motion ad therefore simply tilting up and down will have to suffice. This could end up hindering your viewing angle if you happen to be sitting off to one side.

Lastly, you might select the swivel mount where you have the ability to move your plasma TV in a side to side arc therefore giving you the ability to view it from various angles In this situation it is an ideal match when you move around the room a lot.

The bottom line is that you need to select a plasma TV mount that best handles your own personal needs. Also know up front what room you are going to place it into so you will be better able to choose based on that as well.

About the Author

Listen to Korbin Newlyn as he shares his insights as an expert author and an avid writer in the field of technology. Using a big screen television will let you enjoy movies and television shows in the comfort of your own home but with the feel of being in a cinema. One of the added advantages of using big screen LCD and plasma screen televisions is the ability to save space so there is no need for large entertainment centers or TV stands. You can instead mount the plasma or LCD screen directly on the wall with the use of wall mounts for televisions.

The Vivo Mounts Model PLB1 LCD wall mounts are ideal for home television use. Designed for both plasma and LCD televisions, this LCD wall mount will look great in your home. This particular model is built for larger screen televisions, starting at thirty inches and going up to sixty three inches. It will allow you to mount the television directly on the wall which is perfect to go with any type of decor in the home.

Whether you have a traditional home or a more modern style, using the LCD wall mounts to hang the television on the wall can greatly enhance the decor as well as save space. It turns a typical television into a piece of art that makes your home look great while maintaining the TV's usefulness. The space saving features of LCD wall mounts are very useful. You can use the space to store DVDs or CDs, or you can simply mount the TV in a smaller area that is not comprised of a large wall like a large entertainment center or TV stand needs.

Instead of having to purchase heavy and bulky furniture that can be very expensive, you can instead save money by using the LCD wall mount. The LCD wall mount is easy to install and can be completed in minutes. Plus you have the added benefit of not having to spend a fortune to purchase it. The LCD or plasma wall mount system is a much more cost efficient way to create a sense of entertainment as art in your home. In only a few minutes, without the need for a lot of tools and very little effort you can have your LCD wall mount bracket installed quickly.

Once the LCD wall mount is installed, all you need to do is hang the television on the bracket. You can adjust the wall mount up to five degrees to tilt it in case you need a different angle to watch it easier. The wall mount itself is not viewable so it is not an obtrusive part of the decor. You can use this to hang your LCD and plasma television sets no matter how you have your home decorated. The advantages of using an LCD wall mount are many. It is an inexpensive solution to turn your entertainment systems into not just an art, but a useful art. It will not only look attractive, but will help save you space for a more streamlined look.

About the Author

Vivomounts is a custom wall and ceiling mount manufacturer.

Making Sure You Get The Best Possible Home Theater System

by Aydan Corkern

Getting a home theater installed can be tricky business. There is mounting your new high definition television to the wall, hooking up all the cabling, as well as any other equipment you have to install. This can include DVD players, surround sound speakers, home theater furniture, gaming systems, and projection equipment.
You can get just about anything you like out of a home theater these days. Whether you want movie theater quality for having your friends over, a superb gaming platform for the latest first person shooters, on demand television service, or straight from the internet technology to watch new movies on, you will find a home theater setup for you.

To get the best installation, you'll want professionals to do it, but that sometimes requires getting all your equipment from the same place. The installers will deliver the equipment, set it up, ensure that it works, then take the trash with them. It is hard to beat that unless you are a home improvement professional yourself.

For the do it yourself types, these new systems do come with instructions, but prepare to spend a few hours on the project if you are setting up the whole system at once. The benefits to doing everything at once are varied, but suffice it to say that home theaters are much neater that way. Setting up individual components leads to tangled wires, compatibility issues, and a whole big mess.

So what kind of home theater do you want? If you are a movie buff, you may want to consider an automatic movie service that lets you download movies straight to your high definition television. A larger screen television is usually required for movie watching if you are looking to get the theater experience.

For gamers, a larger screen is also optimal. Where standard definition televisions are sufficient for gaming, you will have better luck with high definition. This allows you to see details you would not otherwise see. This gives you an advantage if your system is hooked up to the internet, and you are playing a multitude of other real time online players instead of just playing the computer.

For on demand enthusiasts, the biggest question is which television service to get and what you will watch. For on demand movie watchers, go with a larger screen high definition television in your home theater. Regular program watchers can go a little smaller.

About the Author

Visit Aydan Corkern's sites: home theater installation and indoor antenna

LCD V Plasma - Which TV Should I Choose?

by Richard Hull
Ever since flat tv screen technology has been made more readily available and with prices going down all the time, some of the most frequently asked questions are what are the differences between LCD and plasma tv's? What are the advantages of each over the other? Which is best for me?

To begin with, it would be prudent to explain, briefly what each technology is. Simply speaking, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) work by light being reflected off of liquid crystals and plasma works by millions of plasma cells that are illuminated when electrically charged. Of course, the explanation is more detailed than that, but in basic terms, that's all you need to know.

The differences between the two are mostly apparent when you have identified what you will mainly be using the tv for. Generally one is neither better than the other one is better than the other, but depending on what type of viewing you do, there are important factors that you should consider before purchasing.

Here are some quick simple LCD v Plasma things to bear in mind:

Contrast - Plasma is generally better than LCD.

Brightness - Plasma and LCD TV pretty much the same.

Longevity - LCD will outlast the equivalent plasma.

Colour Reproduction - Plasma is better.

Viewing Angle - Plasma has a greater viewing angle.

Animation Quality - Plasma, with LCD TV quickly catching up.

Burning - LCD, although plasma technology is fast improving to eradicate this problem.

Price - Plasma are generally cheaper in price than the equivalent LCD model.

Size and Weight - LCD are much lighter, and thus easier to wall mount.

Power Consumption - LCD. But then they are more expensive to buy an equivalent model, so weigh up the cost of electricity to how much extra the tv will cost if this is important to you.

Some more general things you should be aware of. If you're planning on watch a lot of sports or action movies on your new tv, bear in mind that the LCD will be more susceptible towards ghosting, which means you will see some blur in the background of the fast moving object. This doesn't occur with plasma. LCD are moving to eradicate this problem, however, and should this article last the test of time, by now LCD should be equal to plasma for this!

However, if you use it to play computer or consol games, you will be best off with an LCD as this handles such animations much better. Don't forget LCD's were developed a lot with laptops in mind, and so this makes them far superior than plasma.

One final tip, if you do decide to go down to your local showroom, ask them to play the end credits of a dvd.
